Noelle Schmitz, Founder of Marijuana Mama

Hello! My name is Noelle. I started Marijuana Mama from my little homestead in the woods of Winchester, Virginia, where my days are filled with chickens, a little pond, the woods and a whole lot of nature. I’ve always believed nature provides what we need, and cannabis is one of those gifts that nature provides. 

After several years of working in the cannabis industry, I noticed something- mature women were hardly ever part of the conversation. Many women enjoy cannabis recreationally, but some of us also use cannabis to deal with health issues, so we deserve a space that feels like us. That caters to us. That helps us. I couldn't find one, so I built one. 

This idea runs through the entire shop. When shopping for cannabis accessories, I often felt out of place. Most products are made with men in mind or they featured melting faces and tie-dye. I wanted to create a line of products that was more mature and aesthetically pleasing.  I’m especially proud of our smoke space decor. Carefully selected pieces that turn your favorite corner into a calm, stylish retreat that’s all your own while you partake.

Hemp and Marijuana are both varieties of the same plant species and is one of nature’s most generous plants, so you’ll also find hemp clothing, bags, shoes, and home goods that are as kind to the earth as they are beautiful.

As for our vintage product line, I hand-pick every vintage piece on the site myself, hunting through antique stores, flea markets, and estate sales across the Shenandoah Valley. Each one has a story, and no two are alike. These vintage pieces are turned into accessories you can use daily and look stylish on display in any smoke space with that feminine touch. 

My hope is that one day, cannabis is seen as a normal, accepted choice for women, whether it's for relaxation, self-care, or finding a little relief, without any stigma or judgment.

It’s about more than getting high. It’s a vibe.
